In May of 2018, the UUGPGC Class of 2018 awarded Dr. Dave Viskochil, UUGPGC Medical Director, the eighth annual UUGPGC Teaching Award. From the class of 2018, “…when considering all of the many influential educators we have had over our two year journey, we were unanimous in whom we thought deserved the teaching award. That was Dr. David Viskochil. Since our first day of this program as our medical director, teacher, and mentor, he demonstrated a passion and enthusiasm for the genetic counseling field that was contagious. He was a member of the research oversight committee and offered valuable feedback and support of our research projects. He coordinated several of our classes including Human and Clinical Genetics and Professional Development. In those courses we had some of the most meaningful and memorable experiences. He connected us with families that made conditions less clinical and more personable. He exudes and embodies unconditional positive regard, which each of us has admired and tried to also demonstrate.” Congratulations to Dr. Dave Viskochil!
